Seemed mostly an excuse to get Roberts another command despite his enemies at home, and to make up the tech/ship gap between Terra and Alliance that was too wide to sustain any more books.Minor spoiler: Main problem for me was the covert ops chief who kept excusing ridiculously unmilitary behavior by saying , "I've been working on this so long, guess I got obsessed, oops!" Please! Utterly not realistic and was present in a lot of the plotlines.

Stewart continues to improve his already superb space war yarns. There are hint throughout of how he has taken lessons from the very best military SF writers of both today and the past, forging his own characters, yarns, and coherent physics. The action is relentless and compelling. Also great is that the plots are not forced, but flow. Highly recommended. Eagerly awaiting CF5
The story is good, but even the opening couple of chapters had words missing in sentences. In other places the grammar is just bad. To the point where I had to re-read sentences and replace or insert words to make them meaningful.
I received a copy of this book to review, and I liked it so much I went and purchased one to support Mr. Stewarts efforts as an author. He has become one of my favorites to read.
Q-Ship is a fast paced book, and is a great continuation of the series. I couldn't put it down until I got to the end at o'dark thirty in the morning. The plot moves smoothly along, and you don't get lost. The cast of characters is not that long but they're easy to keep track of with no jarring transitions of POV. The book has a traditional plot where the Captain overcomes dangerous enemies, both external and internal. It's been done before in numerous plots from Horatio Hornblower to Honor Harrington. In any event it's done well in Q-Ship.
All in all a worthwhile book to pickup and read. I hope the next book in this series won't be long in coming, but then that would mean the author isn't working on those other series of his that I'm also waiting for "that" next book.
Two and a half stars. More of the same, less than most. The action is starting to border on preposterous. For a series that started out so strong, it now seems that Stewart's heart just isn't in this one.
With each book keeps getting better. Adding more layers to the Castle universe and characters. All storylines told with great skill. Moving on to the next volume...
This is book four of the Castle Federation with Captain Kyle Roberts (the “Stellar Fox”) embarking on a secret mission suing a captured enemy warship to raid behind their lines and disrupt their war effort.
The plot is rather predictable and unsurprising. However, the – desperate as usual - space battles are as gripping as in the first three books of the series. This in itself makes for a fast-paced read even if I never had the slightest doubt about the outcome. Still just about worth four stars because it was an entertaining read, if nothing else.
This is a good book, but the grammar and spelling bring it down. I have been giving the last three books around a four because of grammar and spelling, but after the first three, I would have thought the book would have been edited before release. It is a fun book to read, good storyline, but with the editing issues it story slows down, and it loose flow. I would still read the follow up books, but highly recommend that the author get an editor and fix grammar and spelling issues. Once editing has been put into place I would most likely give five stars, as the story is good.
